Does Password Protect Folders work with 64-bit versions of Windows?
Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 are all available in 64-bit versions designed to run on x64 hardware. You can run Password Protect Folders on your 64-bit Windows. Though Password Protect Folders is a 32-bit application, 64-bit Windows operating systems can run 32-bit code by using an integrated emulator, which is called Windows on Windows 64 (WOW64).
Windows knows the program is a 32-bit application running within the emulator but for the user there is no difference.
